It is with much sadness that Sherry and I have to report that we have sold "Beauty". She will be part of a significant private collection of Pontiacs. Sherry and I are very thankfull that "Beauty" will be well cared for and be part of this wonderfull collection. Good luck dear friend...I hope your future will be as bright as your past!!
Our Blue Car "Beauty" is our all numbers matching 1970-1/2 Lucerne Blue 4 speed Trans Am.
The 1970 Trans Am's were late getting into production and were not in showrooms until March of 1970 earning it the "1/2" designation.
Coming from the factory as an A/C, trim ring delete car, with only the console as an option, this car is considered to be a factory Hot Rod. The 400 c.i. Ram Air III engine was rated at 345 hp (more realistically 370hp). Coupled with the M-20 Muncie gear box and 3:55:1 gears out back these cars could fly.
This example was supplied with a one year only low bucket seat with adjustable headrests, and a plain AM radio with single speaker. Spartan by todays standards to say the least!
Original to this car are the block, heads, intake, carb, exhaust manifolds, internal motor parts (except the valve train), gear box and rear end. This car wears it's original front fenders! NOS parts are too numerous to list but include a complete exhaust system with flats in the head pipes and a galvanized cross flow muffler. The chrome exhaust tips are original to the car. The original interior is completed in the correct three color "Brite Blue".
After a pianstaking four year restoration, Sherry and I traveled with the car to the POCI convention in Charlestown W.Va. where it scored an incredible 391 points out of 400 in it's first showing earning a Junior Gold rating. Three years later we would travel to the POCI meet in Columbia S.C. Here the car scored 393 out of 400 (we had repaired a faulty clock and corrected some improper plating) earning it's Senior Gold award.
Sherry and I are constantly striving to make this a 400 point car.
